Many people have a love-hate relationship with Paintball. Memories of being blown to pieces at a children's party can haunt the hardiest of folks, and rightfully so. I myself have some pretty grim memories of being gunned down at a high school party.
This is about the same time I fell in love with the game though. So I might be somewhat biased.
Due to a fairly severe neck injury, I was prohibited from playing any contact sport while growing up. And I quite like keeping my head on my shoulders, so no rugby for me. In a sport crazed country this is quite the conundrum.
In comes paintball. One of the more extreme sports I could have chosen, I know. But the adrenaline is well worth it.
Now, I just came back to the sport after a two year break in the beginning of the year. A new team was formed. And we played our first tournament this past weekend. With only three weeks of training behind us, I didn't expect much.
We played hard. We lost hard. We won some points, and we lost some. All in all, we came 8th out of 16 teams that competed. And honestly, I am not disappointed.
We played our hearts out. And things will only get better.
Cheers guys.
Till the next one.
Ps. Pardon the terrible photos. Professional ones to come.
