Manchester City came out the blocks firing against 10 man Liverpool putting five past Mingolet.
Sergio Aguero made at 1-0 after 25 minutes when he went clean through on goal an exquisite assist from Kevin De Bruyne. Prior to the breakthrough it looked as though Liverpool up with Salah using his pace to expose a shaky looking Otamendi.
Liverpool were still on top until the untimely and hugely controversial Sadio Mane red card in the 37th minute. Mane was sent off for what referee moss end a dangerous high tackle on Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson. When he came running out and headed the ball away outside of his box and Mane lead with his foot. Mane caught Ederson on the chin and resulted in both players not being able to continue the rest of the match. The decision is many a debate at halftime whether or not have of been a sending off. However Ederson was clearly hurt by the tackle.
This wasn't the end of Liverpool's first half woes as Gabriel Jesus scored a second goal from a beautifully whipped in cross. Just minutes after having a goal disallowed for being judged offside.
At half-time Liverpool brought on Oxlade-Chamberlain for Salah who's last game was actually against Liverpool in a 4-0 drubbing when he was playing for Arsenal. There was nothing Oxlade Chamberlain when Man City split them open again in the 53rd minute and Sergio Aguero paid off Gabriel Jesus for an easy tap in making it 3-0.
)Liverpool's day just got worse the City brought on Leroy Sane in the 57th minute and he added to their woes scoring a quick fire brace. His first goal came in the 77th minute after exchanging a couple of passes with left back Benjamin Mendy who slaughtered him in easy finish put City 4-0. Sane's second goal was the goal of the game who cut in from the right forced himself a yard and bent one into the top corner at the far post. This completed the 5-0 rout.
Manchester City had 66% possession Liverpool's 34%. Peppering Liverpool's goal with 13 shots 10 of which on target Liverpool only managed 5 with 3 on target.Interestingly this was the first time Liverpool had conceded 5 goals against Manchester City for more than 80 years dating back to March 1937 were Manchester City won 5-1.
It's great to see a ![]()partnership growing between Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero who are both two of most lethal finishes in the Premier League. Sergio's assist Jesus showed a deep understanding his teammates attacking runs.
Liverpool will probably be licking their wounds right now. It could be argued at the sending off ruined the game and possibly should not have happened. In my opinion Sadio Mane was in all scoring opportunity and had every right to challenge for the ball in order to score a goal. Furthermore his eyes never left the ball and clearly did not intend to hurt goalkeeper. Unlucky.
!The result has put Man City joined top on 10 points it arrivals man United who's perfect start came to an end with a 2 all draw against Stoke. As for Liverpool they now are 3 points off the top, joint on points with Tottenham. Huddersfield who have a game in hand and West Brom.
wow! Chelsea looking really comfortable we would be number 1 in no time
Yeah once they get Hazard back fully they will be really a real scary team to play
