Ok ok, it's true that Wenger tends to rant and complain about referrees a tad too much, but it's not only him. Mourinho can be ten times worse, and what I like about Wenger is that he will defend his players no matter what (not like... hum... Mourinho for example who enjoyrs targeting and humiliating some of his players - to "motivate" them probably). I like Wenger. I wish he was more aggressive on the transfer market and sign big names, which is probably why he falls short every season. Still, a legendary manager.

Mourinho is trolling them and only says it to annoy or to make a point, to put pressure. Wenger says it because he thinks it. Like Arsenal49 said, in his own head he thinks he's the victim .
Mourinho is 10x the manager Wenger is . period
Mourinho is smarter than Wenger as we speak, and has always been, but Wenger loves football. Mourinho just loves to win.
Well said.
Yes, but he doesn't has to do like everyone else. Klopp, Simeone etc is the new type of managers. From the new school. Wenger, Mourinho, etc is old school. Complaining, blaming etc. Don't get me wrong. Wenger is one of the best managers ever, but his sense of when to quit is completely lost. He should have stopped after the FA cup victory a few years back. Still, I want to see how well he can do if we spend a huge amount of money.
I also think that his time has come, but you can't blame the man for trying. However, Klopp and Simeone... new managers maybe but they complain about referrees just like everyone. it's just the nature of football to complain about them.
True. The biggest difference between these three managers is Wenger is sitting down during the match, the others are standing up constantly correcting, adjusting his team.
It's not about just having a dig at referees. It's "how" you do it so that at the end of the day, your comments take up a psychological advantageous position in the head of your players. That is why they are called mind games. Mourinho bests Wenger in that regard. For Jose, even the mildest of fiascoes is an opportunity to play them.
And we all know that Jose needs currently all the mind games possible to explain/mitigate his inability to catch up with City.
Yes of course. It's what he does. Doesn't make him any less pathetic just that the context here is that he does it better than Wenger.
