NRL: Final round - and the tension is high!

ROUND 26
Starts 31 August 2017
Steeming to you straight from the NRL Headquarters at:

Final round of the regular season and you can cut the tension for 8th place with a knife.

A win for the mighty Dragons against the Bulldogs on Sunday should see them into the Top 8 knocking out either the Panthers, Cowboys or Sea Eagles on 'for & against' points.

However, as the Panthers are playing the Sea Eagles on Saturday, they will know that the winner is in and the loser could be out! A draw however, would mean both teams finish the season above the Dragons - and they will know this too.

Now before we go any further we should mention that Josh Dugan is back in the Dragon's starting 13 after being dropped last week for missing the team bus. Ladies and Gentlemen, it could only happen in Australia!

"Whoops, I missed the bus."

Then of course there are the... North Queensland Cowboys!

Tomorrow

Currently in 7th place, the Cowboys will be going up against an angry, yet resolute Broncos team, following their (Broncos) shock 52:34 defeat to a slippery Eels opposition last week. In fact, this reporter has even heard rumours that the Broncos have engaged a specialist tackling coach, to help lift their defence a notch for tomorrow night's game at 1300SMILES Stadium - 7:50pm.

The whole of North Queensland will be on the edge of their seats this weekend, as they know that a loss tomorrow, along with Manly and Dragons victories will put an end to the Cowboys season.

Like we said - this is tense!!

Steemians - who will be left out of the Top 8 and the 2017 finals series - Dragons, Sea Eagles, Cowboys or Panthers?

Sort:

Cowboys will probably be the ones to miss out. They've already been hit hard by injuries so they would be walking dead men in the finals anyway.

Dragons forwards can out muscle the Bulldogs for another grinding win :)

I agree with you mate - and it seems the bookmakers do too - Cowboys are paying $51 on premiership win and Dragons are $41.

Cowboys are gone - but Buggedout said it first.

On Betfair Cowboys $60 and Dragons $55 so it is pretty close between them there too.

You should get to the Dragons game on Sunday and write a post about it. Reckon the atmosphere will be awesome on a good sunny arvo. Would be even better if it was at Kogarah or Wollongong.

Dragons win, Cowboys lose, Panthers lose but stay in the 8 on For/Against over the Cowboys who miss out
