Since a very young age I have been a very keen football player and i have always been determined to do well weather this be at a game for my football team or even with my friends. Wherever i was there was a football in my hand. One hing i didn't expect to happen through my love of football was the very valuable life skills i learned. Here is a list of the ones i find most beneficial in everyday life:
Communication
For a football team to run successfully one thing that is vital that the communication between the players is of a very high standard. This is also very key to living a healthy life. The main way i saw communication benefiting my life was when i was going through a stage of bullying at my school which i found very hard to get out of. However through communication with the bully and other figures of higher authority i was able to resolve this problem and i am not good friends with my former "bully. This would never have been possible if it was not for the communication skills which i have acquired through football.
Self Belief
Another key part of a good football player is a solid foundation of self belief. The benefits of having a core structure of self belief in everyday lie are tremendous. For example when going for my first part time job at the local supermarket i was required to undergo an interview to which i would have been absolutely terrified of if it were not for my self belief. I managed to be extremely confident in the interview and was able to secure the job for myself.
Always Look Up To Someone
It is always important in everyday life just as it is football to look up to someone and have a role model. This will help you to focus on your goals and strive to be a better person overall but also to achieve your goals you set as you have a constant reminder of what you want to be like and you always have an image in your head of how you want things to work out. This helped me as i had always aspired to be just like Cristiano Ronaldo. Although a little far fetched, this allowed me to physically progress in strength but also in technical ability on the pitch without much knowledge as i always had an idea of how i wanted to be in the end.
The 4th life skill that i learned and arguably the most important though playing football is that it is okay to make mistakes in the things we do. It is only natural to make mistakes. but it id the way we react to these mistakes that is the difference and how we resolve these mistakes to emerge a better person because of it that categorizes us into "the average" and "The Elite". !
When you said "football" i thought American football haha. Until I saw the picture and noticed it was soccer. Why is american football called Football honestly..
I was worried people would think that! haha i dont think american football should be called football because it is played using your hands. Thank you for the read anyway brother! Much love x
