A couple of weeks back we were at the London Olympic park for the World Para Althletics and had a great time. Last night we were back again for the start of the World Athletics Championships.
The crowds were even bigger this time and there didn't seem to be any spare seats by the time it got going. I think it holds 66,000.
The evening started with a few speeches and then various athletes received medals from previous events due to people being disqualified for cheating. It's sad for the sport that so much of this goes on, but the rewards are too tempting. Top stars can make millions, but only if they maintain top performance.
Presenter and former athlete Iwan Thomas was getting down with the mascot.
The evening was mostly heats and qualifying. Britain's Laura Muir led her 1500m heat before qualifying in 4th.
We were seated way up in row 65, but had a good view down the finish straight.
I wasn't keen on the crowd booing Justin Gatlin. He's been banned twice, but he's allowed to compete again now. It spoiled the mood a little.
A lot of people were there to see Usain Bolt run, even if it was just in round one of the 100m. He's a showman and did what he needed to to qualify. The final is tonight. It will be his last, so let's see how he bows out.
Another athlete in his final track competition was Mo Farah. He's also been dominant in his events.
The 10,000m was a great experience with the crowd cheering them all the way. You could hear the cheers follow them around the track. Mo stumbled a few times, but had the power to sprint through to a win. The noise at that point was incredible. He celebrated with a lap of honour with his kids.
We had a long walk around the park back to the station, which was packed and the escalators were not working. We didn't mind too much. It was a fun night.
