Cristiano Ronaldo has told Real Madrid he wants to leave next summer. The Portuguese star has become frustrated with his tax situation and has also been unsettled with rumours about Neymar joining the Spanish giants. It could be tricky for any team hoping to sign the 32 year old, however, as Real Madrid won’t want to lose him and they have a €1billion release clause in his contract. If he was to leave a big contract in China or the USA might tempt him to demand a move, so he can get one last big contract before he retires.
Ronaldo is unhappy in Spain
Barcelona and Juventus are in the hunt to sign Tottenham’s Danish hero Christian Eriksen. With 8 goals and 3 assists so far this season, Tottenham will not want to lose him. Eriksen is known to be happy in London and has said that he feels the Premier League offers the best challenge for his development as a player. However, when the likes of Barcelona and Juventus come knocking, it might be hard to turn the European giants down.
Barcelona and Juventus are keen on Eriksen
Carlo Ancelotti is the clear favourite to succeed Gian Piero Ventura as Italy manager. The former Bayern and Chelsea coach held talks about the position on Wednesday and he seems to be keen on leading Italy back where they belong. They failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1958 in the 1-0 agg defeat to Sweden. Ventura’s head has already rolled and we should expect more. However, IFF president Carlo Tavecchino has refused to resign despite calls for him to do so.
Ancelotti is favourite to be next Italy boss
Real Betis are hoping to pull off a major surprise by signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshire. The England midfielder, whose contract expires next summer is open to the idea of a move to LA Liga, and the only question is whether Real Betis are keen to pay for him in January or wait until the summer and sign him for free. With the World Cup being next summer, Wilshire would probably like to move in January to guarantee regular football, in an attempt to regain his England place.
Fellaini could replace WIlshire at Arsenal
If Arsenal do sell Wilshire, Marouane Fellaini could be the surprise target for Arsene Wenger. The Belgian midfielder has so far refused a new contract at Manchester United and looks set to quit them by next summer. United don’t wan to lose him and Mourinho has said he wants him to sign a new deal, so they won’t consider selling Fellaini in January, especially to one of their rivals. So it seems Wenger will have to wait until next summer. The Gunners could face competition from Internazionale and Besiktas, however, as both clubs are keeping an eye on the situation.

What about Griezmann to Barcelona? Is that a done deal?
Apparently it's a done deal, they've both agreed terms. About 100 million euros, I hear.
I'd like to sit here and say that no one would pay Ronaldo's billion euro release clause but at the rate spending in football is going...it's lowkey possible
No chance. He's too old, and nobody is worth anywhere near that. Even in his prime he would be worth about £150m in today's prices.
A billion euro release clause was just Real being extra cautious. Ronaldo knew when he signed it, there was no way it would be triggered.
Anyway, it looks like you're an Arsenal fan. Are you confident for Saturday's game? @samuelross
