In this opportunity I will tell you a little about the history of a great player who was one of the greatest references in the history of his club.
I speak to you nothing less than Fernando Torres, better known as El niño Torres, born on March 20, 1984 in the city of Fuenlabrada, Spain. Who went from being a child to become a legend in the team of his loves, Atletico de Madrid.

At the age of two he was already kicking and running after his brother's ball. At the age of six he dreamed of being a great goalkeeper, but after some broken teeth he changed his mind. As he grew older, only the same stories and histories, the championships, the leagues and the cups of Atlético de Madrid were heard at home. The first time he stepped on Vicente Calderon with Atleti was on May 27, 2001, when he was only 11 years old playing in the lower divisions of the squad. At the age of 15 he signed his first contract and later at the age of 17 he made his debut with the elders. Despite being in the second division, Torres demonstrated his agility and level with the team of his loves and his family, which could not be more proud at that moment. After 5 great seasons with the team of his loves, the boy decided to try new airs in England with Liverpool in 2007, said goodbye saying these words: "I hope to return one day and that this goodbye is a goodbye later.
On the other hand with the selection of Spain made it clear where his heart was, because when they won the Euro 2008, Torres who was the protagonist scoring the goal of victory against Germany, celebrated through the streets of Madrid displaying a flag of Spain with the shield of the athletic Madrid. And in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where champions were also consecrated, the boy towers lifted the World Cup with an Atleti scarf tied to his wrist.

Until January 4, 2015, Fernando Torres returns to Vicente Calderon and where his fans await him with a great reception worthy of an idol of the club.
In 2016 Torres received perhaps the hardest blow in his career with Atleti after losing the final of the Champions League to his eternal rival, Real Madrid.
It took 17 years, 403 matches and more than 100 goals for Torres to get his first title and raise a cup with the team of his heart, a dream that had longed all his life, he managed to raise the UEFA EURO 2018.

That's why his fans paid him a great tribute as farewell, worthy of a hero, between applause and tears, even together with his first coach who saw for the first time the spark of that little one, also gave him a great shirt with his dorsal, the number 9 and a plaque that will be placed on the honor roll of players of the club, thus taking the title of a great legend of the mattress club.
