Just sitting here watching the Daytona 400. Jimmie just captured 3rd place in the second segment. Got me to thinking. Is he the best ever to drive a top level stock car? I think so.
He has already won 7 NASCAR championships. He and his team win races every season he doesn't manage to win the championship. Hell, he's got what, three in a row. And, he just recently took over, what. 5th in all time wins?
Jimmie and Chad Knause and team are machines... I would not be the least surprised if they win tonight.
I became a Jimmie Johnson/NASCAR fan through my late grandfather. My grandpa was a huge racing fan because his dad was a racing pioneer. Back in the 1930's, my great grandfather was one of the first race car drivers there ever was. I have a portrait of him in his car from that era. It really is beautiful.
My great grandfather died in a racing accident when my grandfather was 5 months old. My Grandpa was a great man. I always wonder what my life would be if that accident didn't claim my great grandpa's life. Hell, I could be like the Earnhardt's, hehe.
Anyway, I'm a huge fan of NASCAR, and I hope you are too. If you're not, give it a try... I suggest Talledega, Daytona(tonight), Bristol, and Darlington. These are the best tracks to spectate.
Who do you think is the best NASCAR driver, ever?

Hell, I'll take 12th for Da Big JJ!. Not bad for a restriction plate race. Who else has 3 wins this year? No One.....
