ATS-TFFA_2017.jpg

We have another NFC East division rivalry for the second Thursday Free-For-All of the season!

The first week of the Free-For-All is in the books as the Washington Redskins defeated the New York Giants on Thanksgiving night, 20 – 10. We had five winners for the contest and a pot of 27 SBD, which will be split evenly among the winners. Before we get to this week’s contest, here are the winners from last week with their chosen statistics (actual game results in parentheses).

Manning Completion Percentage:(48.2%)
Giants Rushing Yards:(84)
Vernon Davis Receiving Yards:(0)
Kirk Cousins Passing Yards:(242)
Total Combined Penalties:(14) @lichtblick, 52% @scaredycatguide, 83 yards @revelationquotes, 32 yards @nikossa1908, 241 yards @liberty-minded, 14

For the total combined penalties statistic, @liberty-minded was the first entry, so he won on the tiebreaker.

Congratulations to all winners! Payouts have been sent and you can verify the transactions in my Steem wallet.

Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys

Thursday, November 30th at 8:25pm ET

AT&T Stadium – Arlington, Texas

The Washington Redskins head into another old-school rivalry game this week against the Dallas Cowboys. Fresh off of their win at home against the Giants, the Redskins are looking to jump ahead of the Cowboys in the NFC East division and keep their playoff hopes alive in the wild card race. The Cowboys and Redskins are tied with a record of 5-6 on the season and both need this win to remain in the hunt.

The Redskins head into this week with a struggling Vernon Davis at the tight-end position but have an emerging ground game, thanks to solid back-to-back weeks from rookie Samaje Perine. He has rushed for 217 yards in the last two games with an average of 4.62 yards per carry, but is still looking for just his second touchdown of the season.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins had a decent performance against the Giants, despite being under a lot of pressure and being sacked six times. He was only able to target Vernon Davis once, as Davis was mostly unable to find any separation from the Giants defense. Luckily for Washington, the Dallas defense has been underperforming this season, so they may find continued success on offense this week.

Without their star running back, Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys continue to struggle to produce on offense and are watching their season slip away. With three games left on his suspension and a sharp drop in offensive productivity with Elliott out, it doesn’t appear that the playoffs are in the picture for Dallas. They’ll need wins in their next three games against mediocre and bad opponents in order to stay alive, as their final two games will be against the Seahawks and the league-leading Eagles, who are 10-1 on the year.

Dak Prescott, who has thrown for no touchdowns and five interceptions over the last three games, will need to get back on track against a Redskins defense that gives up an average of 25 points per game. His standout targets, tight end Jason Witten and receiver Dez Bryant, will need to have stellar performances to compensate for their lackluster rushing game. Look for Prescott to be more active as a scrambler after having zero rush attempts in last week’s loss to the Chargers at home.

This week’s match-up will likely determine the fate of these two teams. Who will win and whose season will likely end in disappointment? Or will both fall short of expectations this year?

Free-For-All Contest

Statistical Categories for the Thursday Free-For-All

There will be five statistical categories for the game, listed below. I have provided averages from the current season. Some numbers have been rounded for game accuracy. (Statistics with decimal places can have game results with decimal places.)

1. Redskins RB, Samaje Perine, Rush Yards: Season average per game is 53.

2. Redskins Defense, Total Yards Allowed: Season average per game is 346.

3. Cowboys QB, Dak Prescott, Passing Yards: Season average per game is 211.

4. Cowboys WR, Dez Bryant, Receiving Yards: Season average per game is 53.

5. Total Combined Points Scored: Combined Season average per game is 46.

How to Play and Win

  1. In a comment on this post, submit your predicted results for the five statistical categories in the order that they appear above. You can number your selections (1–5) as they are above or not, but if not, I will assume that they are in the correct order and the results will be checked in that order. ONLY ONE COMMENT SUBMISSION PER USER, PER CONTEST. The use of multiple accounts will result in disqualification and permanent blacklisting for all future contests.

  2. The deadline for submission is the scheduled game time. Any submissions or edits to submissions after the deadline will result in disqualification from the contest. Make sure that you have accurately submitted your numbers before the deadline.

  3. There will be one winner for each statistic. The winner will be the contestant closest to the final statistic from the game. In the case of a tie, the contestant who entered their selections first will be the winner. There is no limit to the number of categories that you can win. Contestants can potentially win one or all of the categories.

  4. The contest is funded with a minimum pot of 10 SBD. The SBD will be distributed evenly between all five categories. The pool will consist of 75% of the SBD payout for this post. The remaining 25% will be dedicated to my sports development fund.

Have fun and good luck!
