Olympic Mixed-Team Relay in the spotlight

in #sports7 years ago

It's not new that the mixed-team relay will be held for the first time in Tokyo 2020, but with only two years to go, it's about time for the national selections to be formed. The Belgian Triathlon and Duathlon Federation will host a test event on May 5th and 6th in order to get things going.

Athletes from the age of 14 are invited at the Sport Vlaanderen domain at Willebroek. During these two days the main focus will be the mixed-team relay project that will have its official start at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.

But it will not be all about the Olympics. The federation want to offer the opportunity to young athletes to show their skills in this explosive discipline. This way they will try to gather a selection which might represent Belgium for the coming years and Olympics further away.

The program will have various things, both informative and intensive sessions. The apotheosis of he weekend will be the test event where every athlete can show off their skills in a unique supersprint triathlon (300/4/1,5), the distances to be done during the Olympic event.

Besides athletes, parents and coaches are welcome as well to participate in the briefings and workshops. More information can be found on following link.
