The Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor world tour starts today, July 11th kicking off in Los Angeles for the first press conference. McGregor is known for his trash-talking so it will be interesting to see how it plays out against a usually calm and collected Floyd Mayweather.
July 12th, the 2nd leg of the tour goes up north to Toronto, Canada.
July 13th, the tour continues in Brooklyn, New York.
The tour concludes on July 14th in London, England where McGregor will have a sizable hometown advantage with London being fairly close to Ireland. The Irish fans always show up to support McGregor and I expect nothing less on the 14th.
This tour will be a change of pace for boxing press conferences, usually they're professional, but with Conor McGregor it likely will play out completely different. Conor is going to try to get into Floyd's head and just dominate the mental warfare. We'll see with this tour how Floyd reacts and if he is shaken from it like McGregor's past opponents have been. Floyd has a leg up inside the ring, but when it comes to press conferences, McGregor is king.
Can't wait for their first staredown!
I'll watch the show and wait to watch the fight for free. I am not pating 100 USD for a fight with a clear result. I hope boxing stops selling because realistically their highest profit fights have had no entertainment value in the recent past.
