The English Premier League officially kicks of today with Manchester United hosting Leicester City, here we try to see who are favourites to lift the trophy at the end of the season.
Arsenal
Coming into the new season with a new manager, not much expectation is on the club to win major trophies as it starts it rebuilding process under Unai Emery who replaced club icon Arsene wenger.
Fans would appreciate a place in the top four, come to think of it that's what Wenger has consistently delivered to them, except in his last season in charge.
Verdict
They stand no chance of winning the EPL
Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino's team have been consistent in the race for Champions League qualifications, however a trophy has been evasive. For all their beautiful attacking play and formidable Striker in Harry Kane, who has consistently delivered the goods, they failed to bring home a trophy.
Verdict
Having failed to have made an addition in the just concluded Transfer window means they get to compete with the same set if players, whereas their rivals have improved.
Just like their neighbors on the other side of town, they too have no chance.
Manchester United
United Boss, Jose mourinho spent the better part of the clubs preseason tour complaining and pouting, this has left players with no confidence and fans doubting. Betting odds for Mourinho to be the first EPL manager to be sacked this season are dropping daily, unless the pull off a big win against Leicester tonight, my bet is those odds will keep dropping, while the chances of him getting sack increases.
Verdict
If they do not get their house in order, they would be lucky to get a top four finish
Manchester City
One of the bookies favourites to win the league, City have improved their team with the addition of Riyad Mahrez, their only regret would be missing out in Jorginho.
In all they still have a pretty strong team to defend the title.
Verdict
Should win the title ahead of their Rivals, they have a balanced team with a great manager, pushing for the UCL might be a greater priority though.
Liverpool
Last season's UCL's finalist, Liverpool have greatly improved their team all round, by adding depth and quality they should be able to compete on all fronts while no doubt entertaining their fans, something the fans of their greatest rival have often complained of lacking.
Verdict
They should put up a good fight, but with the new faces coming in, it may take them time to adjust and click, plus the defence looks shaky at times during preseason, something premier league teams will look to exploit.
A second place finish is surely within their grasp.
Chelsea
Much is expected from new manager, Sarri but I do not think that the axe would come for him should he fail to bring the title to the Bridge.
Sarri by all indications has a strong team and it is a plus that they were able to keep Hazard who is a vital asset. The team we look to adjust to the teachings of their new manager and build on from there next season.
Verdict
A top four finish is well within their grasp.

On the contrary I think Liverpool may just pull it off. And the red half of Manchester shouldn't be written off just yet.
