The case of Tanya Harding will always stick out in my mind because I had just entered my teen years and it's the first big splash on the media that I can vividly recall. Not to mention that ice skating was the only part of the olympics I had any interest in watching when I was young.
It's sad that the media is always more interested in an entertaining story than the facts to a story. I view anything on the news with 'one eye shut' so to speak, sensationlism turned me into a skeptic very young.
