Hello my name is Geraldine Elizabeth Flores, and unlike many I will not dedicate my first blog to introduce myself or give a brief review of me, on the contrary, as I publish you will be able to realize where I am, what I like to do, what I dedicate myself, etc. And that's why I chose one of the best moments I experienced during 2017 and I have not detailed it so much to anyone until now, that it was "Fly in Paragliding".
The story begins like this, in 2015 I was determined that I wanted to experience this type of sport, the idea of being able to see nature from the air was among my plans from that moment, it was even something I did not tell anyone, just what I wanted to do and already ... no matter if I would throw myself (apart from the clear instructor).
As I would spend a few days in Caracas I started to find out where they practiced or made these flights, I had already seen that most of these fixed extreme sports have schools in the Capital so it was to make the most of the trip, and therefore I contacted some instructors who they made or made (because we are talking about 2015) in the Junquito and the Guaira, I passed the information of the complete kit (photos and videos) offered and the price did not seem at all high. However, I could not make the flight due to lack of time, they had other plans for me with the visits I was doing and thank goodness I had not booked.
I was sure that the opportunity would come, and so it was (2017). I did not have the need to travel to Caracas to try to fulfill this "dream", I managed to get a team of instructors (the boom of social networks) that offer this type of activities in the State of Anzoategui, and of a reserve!
As previously other plans were interposed and I could not do it, this time I did not want that to happen, so I told only one person, either to accompany me or to launch, because I was sure he wanted to launch me in paragliding, we booked On a Thursday and Sunday at 10 AM we were in Cerro el Morro Lechería- Estado Anzoátegui.
An excellent flight depends on the weight and CLIMATIC conditions that are presented at that time, were the main instructions that the instructor indicated before booking, I name this because the speed and presence of the winds in the ORIENTE is VERY VARIENT. So that Sunday I could not make the flight, the winds did not lend! I had to wait two more weeks, yes! Two more weeks because the next Sunday was Father's Day.
I arrived on Saturday, I was still psychologically prepared (calm), 11 am and the winds still nothing, until at 12 pm it was all ready, it was my turn and it was right there that my nerves started, I remembered that I had not told ANYONE AT HOME, however, it was a mixture of adrenaline, emotions with fear and extreme attraction to what I felt at that moment. All this while the instructor gave me the directions: run, run and when I tell you you sit down and you shrug your legs.
READY! I saw my feet move away from the earth, the first meters in the air and I could not stop laughing, I was VERY EXCITED! the higher we climbed the greater the feeling of peace, tranquility and most admired the beauty of the Morro that I had seen many times from the ground, I was seeing it from another angle ... the sea, the mountain, vegetation ... all in one ! It was magical!
Impressive ... it lasted 20 minutes and at the end the only thing I wanted was to fly again. An unforgettable experience that brings you even more to continue exploring and feel fortunate of the beautiful landscapes that abound in my country ... Venezuela!
The wait was worth it! It is an activity that if you do not want to practice it but at least once you must live that experience!
Is it to the EXTREME? Yes, totally! and that in many places in the world they do it.
100% recommended, I hope you have enjoyed my experience, that you follow me, give me vows that I will do the same =)
PD: Remember that if you are going to perform this type of activity you should be with professionals in the field. Research, read recommendations and experiences from the team of instructors that you are going to do it!
