Well this came out of NOWHERE! All this talk about Paul George and Jimmy Butler and out of the blue the Hawks and the Hornets pull of this surprise trade.
Dwight Howard just inked a deal with the Hawks last year and now being shipped of to another team. This will be Howard's 4th team and he seems like a malcontent where ever he goes.
1 - Remember in Orlando he kept flip flopping on whether he would stay or not?
2 - And then when he was traded to my beloved Lakers he couldn't take Kobe criticism and fled town for lesser money
3 - Then paired up with the GREAT James Harden to form a super team they FLOPPED. But now with Dwight gone they were one of the best teams in the NBA.
4 - And now of course 1 year in at Atlanta and the Hawks essentially gave him away.
Howard was traded for Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli, and the 41st pick. So a couple of seldom used bench players and a 2nd round pick!
I LOVE this time a year because of all these surprises! Let's see how long Dwight can last in Charlotte as if he thought Kobe was tough, what will Michael Jordan do to him?
Let me know what you think about this trade.
Gonna be like Mike D'Antoni coaching the Rockets IMO. Get bashed, bashed, and bashed some more for your failures, and then wreck everybody the 3rd or 4th time around out of nowhere.
Hes got something going on. Didnt do anything to improve his game.
You are right but still solid. 13 years in the league he is not getting better but still solid. 13.5 points, 12.5 boards, 1.2 blocks, 30 minutes a game and played 74 games. That's a solid stat line. It has to be locker room presence. You don't trade away those numbers and friendly contract for literally nothing. When he was a Laker I remember all kinds of emotional hurt feelings from him. Good luck to Jordan and the Hornets.
Ever since Dwight Howard got traded from the Orlando magic he has never been the same player didn't fit in with the Los Angeles Lakers or the Houston Rockets the Atlanta Hawks . Dwight Howard is a physical specimen but he is not producing his weight in gold seems to me is getting treated every year now
Agreed! He was in his prime with Orlando...and he was THE MAN. Led them to the Finals. But it did not seem like he wanted to embrace that roll or the pressure. With the Lakers he could not take the Kobe criticism and was not the main option. Sometimes not even the #2 option as Gasol was there. Then in Houston he just didn't mesh well with Harden. And his one year with the Hawks tell you something. The new GM is from Golden State and he wants to bring a positive culture to the locker room. Something Howard has trouble doing. Plus they needed to dump his salary to resign Milsap. It's going to be interesting to see how he fits in with the Hornets. As Jordan wants to win.
No matter, he's not very good
lol he is worth a bag chips.
They better be Doritos then!!! lol.
