I’ll just do a quick one here. Since the start of this season, Lukaku has been on the recieving end of a lot of flak, for various reasons. He’s been accused of being a playground bully, having a poor first touch and also failing to properly link up play with his team mates.
Well, maybe the banter boys had reason to swing earlier on but now, they will have to eat their words now. A closer look at Lukaku’s play and you will notice how he has greatly improved his all round play. He’s movement, ball control and passing is now an essential part of the Manchester United build up and this is evident in the fact that he has a very commendable seven league assists with a passing percentage of 68.3
It should also be noted that Manchester United fans have been crying out for “20 goal” striker in the post Ferguson era and when Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals last season, he was widely praised for his efforts but Lukaku has recieved little commendation despite being track to score 30 goals. Where is the respect?
Lukaku has outscored many of the top strikers in Europe. The likes of Antoine Griezmann, Dries Mertens, Gonzalo Higuain, Kylian Mbappe, Paulo Dybala, Mauro Icardi and Edin Dzeko.
He performance in the games against Chelsea last week and Crystal Palace last night shows he is becoming a world class forward and at just 24 years of age, the future holds a very frightening prospect. Let’s keep the banters aisde and truly appreciate his excellence
