Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a road course located in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is known for hosting the Indianapolis 500, the most important oval race in the IndyCar Series and one of the most important racing races in the United States. Indianapolis is the largest public sports venue in the world, with 257,000 permanent seats. It is part of the National Register of Historic Places since 1975 and is a National Historic Landmark since 1987.!
