All of the Anti New Year Resolution personalities will scoff but yesterday I started my personal goal of focusing solely on body weight training for the duration of 2018. It is my expectations that this experience is going to be a humbling one that I will be forced to put aside ego and replace it with appreciation. Appreciation for the amazing machine that is my body and that body will now become my own personal gym.
To mark this beginning stage I have taken photos of my body, front/side/back views and also weighed myself.
Body Composition
124.4lbs
23.5% Body Fat
33.5% Muscle
Understandably I do not have much in way of excess body fat, in fact I feel there is no need to lose weight at all! And although I do expect to see changes in my overall physique, that is not my main focus.
I feel a very strong desire to feel more grounded and connected to my body. And It is my intention to share this journey with you and to inspire your own actions to better health. In this series, expect to see my workouts and progressions, my strength and weakness, flexibility training and nutrition. I believe the Steemit platform produces such an inspiring and supportive community that lifts each other up to our best potential, so what better place than here to share this exciting experience!
i think the best outcome would be the level of inspiration ! :)
100% @mcfarhat :D
I can't wait to see the transformation! I am burning off some fat at the present time and building a base of strength/muscle. Very inspired by your post. Best wishes on your journey!
Excellent plan @sunnyofoz Good Luck in your goals, I hope I can give you some additional momentum in reaching them :)
bodyweight is great, if you cannot push yourself around, you have no business pushing other things around!
haha.. I like your perspective :P Thanks!
I did a pure bodyweight fitness phase a while back and loved it! Minimal equipment, minimal fuss, yet you can still be totally wrecked after that (: all the best!
This is certainly a change in gears for myself.. although I've always done bodyweight training with my workouts there has always been weight lifting as the focus. I think my body is going to get one big shock with this seemingly harmless shift of training :P
