Magic’s Jonathon Simmons details Harvey escape: Ride a boat, walk through muddy water, ride on back of dump truck

Enchantment forward and Houston local Jonathon Simmons left his downtown apartment suite to evade Hurricane Harvey's fierceness, yet the tempest and its resulting surges still achieved Richmond, Texas, where he was remaining with a companion.

"Saturday night it began raining around 8 o'clock, however we had become over yonder around 3 o'clock as a sanity check,'' Simmons reviewed on Wednesday morning. "I had purchased these inflatable cushions and covers and covers and sustenance and water for everyone. We were useful for three days, yet my other companion's home had begun getting overflowed early, so he came there to the house, as well. With the goal that gave us another 11 additional individuals and a large portion of them were kids. We needed to give the children a chance to eat to start with, so a large portion of the most recent two days it was somewhat unpleasant (without nourishment).

"There was no less than 20 individuals in the house and likely eight of them were kids,'' Simmons included. "When I was pretty much nothing, my mother constantly kept the refrigerator loaded with stuff (amid tropical storms). This time, I ate a pack of ramen noodles and that is just for like a day-and-a-half.''

"Trae the Truth, the rapper, is from Houston and we know a common companion from San Antonio. They conveyed a watercraft to Houston in light of the fact that (Trae) needed to clear too,'' Simmons said of the rapper, who has increased extra reputation as of late in Houston for helping many others empty overwhelmed regions. "They came and got (Trae) and afterward he came and escaped. Fortunately, I had a companion in the zone who could enable us to out.''

"Regardless we needed to ride a pontoon, stroll through sloppy water and ride on the back of a dumpster truck for like five miles. It was insane,'' Simmons reviewed. "I needed to hold up my kin and I had a few children with me. The majority of the children were mature enough to walk, however one of them I needed to convey with me.''
