What about all those who worked just as hard or even harder, and didn't make it. There are a lot of those people too, although there is no way to figure out how many fall into this category. One such person is Rudy Ruettiger who was determine to play college football, there was a movie made about him. He made the team because he worked so hard, but he wasn't an exceptional player. He did something exceptional for being average, and that is considered exceptional. Today he is a motivational speaker, probably his real talent. In a way, he did make it by working hard at something he wasn't great at. I guess there is hope for anyone, you never know how your hard work will turn out.

Seriously though, there is a difference between working hard and working smart, and playing to your strengths, the point I am making, is that there have been lots of so-called naturally talented people who have done nothing, and lots of so-called average people who have risen to great heights...
