Top 5 Young Signings This Summer (Football/Soccer)

My personal top 5 picks: (Left out the obvious Mbappe and Neymar moves to PSG)

1. Ousmane Dembele: Borrussia Dortmund -> Barcelona 105M

Barcelona has been struggling and under a lot of scrutiny from their fans but I think one small victory is that they got a gem with Dembele. I've been watching him play for the France national team and Dortmund and this guy just takes on defenders like nothing. He is just 20, but he is very confident and he has pace and also seems to have an eye for passes. Previously, I would have said he would not be able to find a starting spot with Messi, Neymar, and Suarez, but with Neymar heading to PSG, I think Barca might have found a replacement who can bring some excitement back to Camp Nou.

Check out this clip of him burning Kyle Walker in a sprint during their international fixture!

2. Youri Tielemans: Anderlecht -> AS Monaco 21M

From the talent generated (and sold) by Monaco over the past few years, you know that they have something going right in their scouting department. Falcao, James Rodriguez, Mbappe, and much more have shined at this club and gone off to net Monaco a huge profit from sales. They have used their sales money and wiseley invested in even more up and coming talents. Tielemans is 20 and has a cannon of a shot. He seems to show a great maturity for his age as a midfielder, and Belgium has historically produced some fine midfielders (minus Fellaini.)

Here are some of his highlights from the Belgian League:

3. Naby Keita: RB Leipzig-> Liverpool Undisclosed (70M-90M rumored)

Liverpool has been lacking midfielders ever since Gerrard, Mascherano and Xabi Alonso left. Henderson, Wjinaldum, and Can sometimes do a good job but it looks like they lack someone who can consistently win the ball back and bring the ball up quickly to the front 3. Naby Keita is someone who I watched a lot of. He reminds me a lot of Chelsea's Kante with his relatively small and weak looking body, but have huge defensive outputs. On top of that, Keita seems very fast and can also dribble with the ball very well. Only downside is that Keita will still at Leipzig until next season, but being just 22, Liverpool will definitely have him for his best years.

Here are some highlights for Keita:

4. Alvaro Morata: Real Madrid -> Chelsea 52M

Here we have the oldest player on my list at 24. A perfect age for a big move as he will hit his peak years at his new club. Chelsea did not have the best of luck this window but they did luck out by prying Morata from Real Madrid. He is someone who has had a very high goals to minutes ratio and seems to make his shots count. He has started off the season for Chelsea well despite the Blues not playing well overall. With Costa refusing to play for Chelsea, it is on Morata to bang in the goals for Chelsea. And given his record, it looks like he will be challenging for the golden boot this season.

Here are some of his goals:

5. Hakan Calhanoglu: Bayer Leverkeusen -> AC Milan 22M

With Everton paying 40M plus for a dead ball specialist in Sigurdssen, 22M for one seems to be a bargain. However, Calhanoglu is also a skilled dribbler and a great passer of the ball. The Serie A has always been a great league for midfielders to develop, with their more slower paced style giving them more time to pick out passes. Calhanoglu has always showed signs of brilliance at Leverkeusen, and he joins a revamped AC Milan side who are cutting a lot of dead weight while making a lot of really smart signings. Perhaps with Calhanoglu and the other new signings, Milan can once again return to the top of European football.
