To be a catch, or not to be a catch.

On Sunday December 17th, 2017, the Pittsburgh Steelers took on the New England Patriots for a hard fought, late season game. The game was a clear shootout with each quarterback launching at least 3 touchdowns into the end-zone. In the 4th quarter, the Patriots ended up taking the lead 27-24 with the Steelers possessing the ball with 58 seconds remaining in the game. Ben Roethlisberger threw the ball to JuJu Smith-Shuster who ran for 69 yards to put the Steelers in field goal range to tie up the game. But with enough time left on the clock, the Steelers decided to go big or go home. With 34 seconds left Ben snapped the ball and threw to his tight end who caught it, fell to the floor untouched, and put the ball over the goal line to secure the game for the Steelers. Or so we though. After the crowd erupted with cheer, it would soon be replaced with boos and outrage.
The rule known as the Dez Bryant rule came to screw the Steelers now too. Because the ball was dropped after the touchdown was scored, the call on the field was overturned from the original call on the field, a touchdown. This rule has been pissing people off for awhile now, but the fact that this call gave the Patriots yet another bullshit win, is probably 100000000x more aggravating. I recall a catch made by Odell Beckham Jr for a touchdown against the Patriots that was overturned to that ultimately handed the Patriots that game as well. It just amazes me that they had no problem reviewing and overturning catches such as OBJ's and Jesse James's, but when it comes to Superbowl winning calls... cough cough Atlanta vs. Patriots last year.... not even a review is commenced.
