Hello Steemit. I hope you have a happy day. As you can see in this title, today we will make a tribute, since yesterday was 2 years after his death. Muhammad Ali, the king of strategy in the ring and the bee that most knocked down his opponent.
Enjoy the post!!
Muhammad Ali was born as Cassius Clay but chose to change his name in the 1960s after his conversion to Islam.
He was closely involved with the objectives of the Nation of Islam group, pro-African-American militants, but years later he changed his life to a much more mystical Muslim sect.
He retired from the ring during the 1960s for 3.5 years for refusing to enlist in the US Army. during the Vietnam War and was sentenced to 5 years in prison for evasion. The Supreme Court reversed the sentence.
In October of 1970, during his first return after his forced exile of three years and seven months - after refusing to join the armed forces - was against the then number 1 heavyweight category, Jerry Quarry.
With 28 years, Ali had to make a successful return to the field and win by 'knock out' in the third round, but the fight almost does not happen.
"So he only had six months to prepare for this fight," says Miller. "In training, his childhood friend and former heavyweight champion, Jimmy Elis, fractured one of Ali's ribs."
Despite this wound, the boxer did not change the date of the fight, being in doubt whether he would achieve it or if he would at least have the opportunity to fight again.
Until recently and throughout his years with Parkinson's disease, Ali surprised the visitors by doing tricks of conjuring, that is, playing tricks with his hands.
"He makes a red silk scarf disappear from his hand, bites a coin and removes half of it and then leaves it full again. He usually presents an old saloon trick: he puts his feet together and stands on one of his toes while keeping his other fingers flexed, as if floating in the air, "adds his biographer Davis Miller.
With the gloves inside the ring he built his sports legend, without them he fought for peace, justice and freedom. Muhammad Ali, the heavyweight boxer who transcended boxing and became a hero for millions of people during the convulsive decade of the sixties in a country with deep racial differences.
The Ring magazine ranked him as the second best boxer pound for pound of all time, second only to Ray "Sugar" Robinson. In 1999, he was named "Sportsman of the Century" by the Sports Illustrated Magazine and "Sports Personality of the Century," by the BBC. The World Boxing Council during its Annual Convention in Cancun, Mexico, in 2012, crowned him "The King of all times."
Ali was not only one of the three best pugilists in history, he has also been one of the greatest athletes of all time. Yes, because at the time of mentioning the main figures that gave glory to their respective sports we can mention Michael Jordan and Lebron James in basketball, Pelé, Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi in soccer, Michael Phelp and Mark Spitz in swimming; Willie May and Babe Ruth in baseball, Usain Bolt and Carl Lewis in athletics; among other illustrious names.
But Ali's name is found by right in that select group. Ali was the most famous, the most talkative, the most controversial. But he was also an athlete with exceptional abilities.
Forever will be in the hearts and inspirations of each athlete and person.
R.I.P
Thanks for watching!

Awesome post mate and what a great topic. This guy was a freak of nature and I still haven't worked him out. In some stories I feel he was quite vulnerable, but the guy is so intelligent that he always seemed to have a plan. His fight with Fraiser and the story behind it is one of my favourites. Both elements were brutal and wonderful to watch at the same time. 15 rounds!!! Man those guys were made of heavy metal.
RIP Ali, the greatest.
Thank you for reading, my bro. No doubt no one can overcome the great Ali.
I love the sport, more so back then than now. Eubank and Nigel Benn were the boxers I grew up watching, but Ali is the greatest. Some good middleweight around and Carl Froch was a beast! He comes from same town as me, Nottingham. What do you think of the heavyweight division at the moment?
I also have a certain desire for sports, especially baseball. About boxing: Nothing compared to the classic heavyweight division, I think that boxing is currently no longer the same (in my humble opinion) example of those classic heavyweights: George Foreman, Evander Hollyfield, Tommy Morrinson or Lennox Lewis.
