Al minuto 2 el primer susto del partido en un tiro libre a favor de Italia, que le pega Quagliarella que rebota con la barrera y le vuelve a pegar para irse por un costado.
Mucha intensidad de parte de Italia, varios intentos y al minuto 15 por la banda izquierda de los pies de Spinazzola, que un drible se quita al defensa de enfrente, patea el centro y con un golpe de cabeza Sensi haría el primero de la partida.
Sobre el minuto 20 un gol anulado de Quagliarella porque se encontraba en offside.
Al 31 jugada individual de Verrati que se mete en el área y se quita dos jugadores del camino para cargar su pierna derecha y dar el 2 a 0.
Al 34 un penal a favor de Italia, por una mano en el área rival de un defensa en un disparo a portería. Cobrado por Quaglirella para el 3 a 0.
al 45+1, gran jugada encabezada por Quagliarella que se encuentra metido en el área, que en un pase de taco se la da a Politano, que con un leve toque se la deja a Sensi para que dispare, un tiro que fue desviado por un defensa con parte de su brazo evitando así el gol. Situación que el arbitro da penal y la expulsión del defensa.
Nuevamente penal cobrado por Quagliarella para el 4 a 0.
Al minuto 70, un centro de Spinazzola que cruza el área cabecea Quagliarella al centro, y va a ser kean con un golpe de cabeza para el 5 a 0.
Y por último al 76 para liquidar del juego un gol de Pavoletti que en un primer intento la saca el portero y luego en el rebote logra su gol.
Victoria aplastante contra Lichtenstein, donde Italia suma de a 3 y se coloca líder en su grupo.
