Greatest Boxing Match Ever: Floyd Mayweather VS. Conor McGregor Aug. 26

in #sports8 years ago (edited)

One of the biggest fights to ever be on PPV, at least in my opinion, is set for August 26. The shit talking will get more intense before they get to beat the crap out of each other and decide who really is the best boxer in the world. No matter who wins the shit talking will continue though, i can promise that.

According to UFC president Dana White, the fight will be at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be contested at 154 pounds. It will be a standard, 12-round boxing match with 10-ounce gloves. The Nevada Athletic Commission on Wednesday approved the request from Mayweather Promotions to put on a boxing card on Aug. 26 at the MGM Grand. The venue could change, however, to T-Mobile.

Consider the following stats when deciding who will and should win this match up. Mayweather is an undefeated boxer with a record of 49-0 and he has been fighting pro since 1996. It will be a return from retirement after almost two years for him. While McGregor is currently fighting as a pro MMA UFC fighter with a record of 21-3 and current lightweight (155 lbs.) champion. He has been unstoppable in the UFC and his attitude is as well. The big areas that will cause disscomfot for the fighters will be in the weight class of 154. Mayweather will suffer most from this as he is probably not in shape to fight in this weight class. While McGregor has his belt in the 155 lightweight class so it wont be a hard cut for him. But for McGregor he will suffer from the lack of ability to take Mayweather to the ground. Though he prides himself on his boxing game.

In my opinion I have to favor Mayweather greatly. I feel that McGregor will stand a chance in the short game but in the long haul he will get destroyed. He will have to take risks early to make an early stop. This fight could go 12 rounds. The most he has fought through is 5 in title fights and 3 for a regular non-title bought. He may be a good UFC boxer but I dont believe he cant sand and fight with Mayweather.

What do you guys think. Will you watch? Can i come over and watch with you?

That is some analysis that I had not thought of. McGregor walks around at that weight and is taller than Mayweather.

It should be a shoo-in win for Mayweather but I'll be watching nonetheless.

I agree completely. Thanks

This title is an insult to every single boxer that has ever lived.

Conor McGregor is an amateur boxer. Floyd is a world champion who spent his entire career fighting boxers who are MUCH better than Conor and winning. They are not fighting in MMA, Conor has absolutely no advantages on Floyd. He might be a little bit younger but that is it. Even his cardio is questionable while Floyd is a machine.

This is barely a fight but whatever, the press conferences will be entertaining though.

Conor isnt even amateur or a boxer at all. It is a joke and i hope he gets slaughter for his arrogance and cockiness. Thank you for commenting and feeling exactly as I do. I will watch for all of my hate toward Conor.

Maybe after this fight happens.....Floyd will pay to have Lebron come over to the NFL and play tight end.:) Just since we are doing the "What if an MMA fighter took on a boxer in a boxing ring (square)."

HAHAHA. Conor is just so damn arrogant. Thats why i dislike him so much. I dont think you have to be cocky, just confident. I really cannot wait to see him get slaughtered. Unfortunately it may happen so fast that the fight wont be fun.

Well....I'm happy it is conor getting this fight, because if I heard another damn Ronda Rousey to Floyd challenge I was gonna lose my shit lol I don't see Floyd knocking him out quick, I see him with his hands up and dodging and Conor just looking like a complete tool who can't hit a thing.

rofl yea probably. But he is so arrogant. I think he will be aggressive. Being aggressive may be his only shot though. I dont think he can out stamina, though age may come into play, so I think he will need to take some risks and try to get one of his lucky knockout punches.

I dont think it would be the best boxingmatch ever , because it's a boxer against a ufc fighter .
The only problem is it could hurt the UFC like it hurted the K1 when they invited strange types of fighter ... sumo's and ,boxers, wrestlers and ufc fighters it was like a the circus fights... i hope it stays fresh. 👊😎

I am not really a boxing fan.. love MMA. And i would agree that its not the best boxing match ever in the sense of boxing but in the sense it will probably be the only boxing max ill ever watch. I am hoping Conor gets whooped and think it is most likely. The UFC's rep prob wont get hurt b/c boxing fans are unlikely to think much of MMA anyways. I think Conor's gonna be Butt hurt though when he lands on his butt a few times. BUt who know, we will see and that is the exciting part. Thank you for commenting @spazzmm

Ohhh Hello @nicnas i also want Conor to be Asswhooped because of the acting like a wanker , sowwe have to wait hahaha😑 cheeerssssssss @nicnas

My POINT exactly. Thx @spaxxmm

i also want Conor to be Asswhooped because of the acting like a wanker

👊😉

Floyd is by far the favorite. He has results and a lifetime of experience in the boxing ring. However, I still say we are in for a treat, and anything can happen in this match. Both are extraordinary athletes, may the best man win.

Very true. It will be enjoyable for all i believe. Entertainment is what it is for anyways. No matter the outcome.

Ecactly. Not sure if it's good or bad, but I agree 100%. It is what it is, all there is left to do is enjoying it.

I personally think it is ridiculous (good for both fighters financially of course):

it is. But it will be entertaining and that it the point i guess.

true true, that it will be
