A good way to start

In every goal, there's always that first step, and if you've been holding yourself back from stepping on the ice, this may be your time take that step. One step will lead to a future of you leaping, jumping, and spinning on the ice. Every year we are given the opportunity by Milo to explore and venture out your talents on ice. This is the Milo Summer Program for Figure Skating. This program envisions to create more athletes and enrich their potentials in the sport. Excelling in any discipline could mean sponsorship and the likes.

There are 5 basic levels in the figure skating standard that we're following. This is the standard of the Ice Skating Institute (ISI). These 5 levels are namely Pre-alpha, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta. You need to complete all 5 levels before proceeding to the more advanced freestyle levels. Now, the Milo program offers lessons in the first 2 levels, at the amount of the that is given. Here's the price:

Figure Skating is a sport you can practice perseverance and discipline. You also learn how to express yourself. The reason why Milo concentrated in the first basic levels is because a good foundation of the basics will lead to better skills in the future. Believe or not, for my warm up I review ALL the basics that were taught in all 5 levels, which is why it might take 30 minutes or more for on-ice warm ups.

Aside from the skills, it will be a good chance to be a part of our ever growing Ice Skating family. Membership is free, and you'll be welcomed with open arms. It doesn't matter if you just started or not, you can definitely ask assistance from skaters that are of higher levels. You can research the elements in the Pre-alpha and Alpha levels on the internet, you can also check it on Youtube, that way you can be familiar with them. Remember, in figure skating, you can't go to another level after one level without passing an exam conducted by your coach. That will be verified to the Ice Skating Institute and you will be given a certificate and badges. Your certificates would entail that you can compete in competitions in the level you are in.

Don't hesitate, enjoy the ice!
