Yamaha Movistar rider, Maverick Vinales, admitted his team mate Valentino Rossi could achieve better results in the last three series of 2018 MotoGP races.
Latest, Rossi managed to climb the podium when finished in third place MotoGP Italy, Sunday (3/6/2018). In the same race, Vinales finished eighth despite starting the second race.
In the two previous MotoGP series, Rossi also managed to finish better than Vinales on MotoGP Spain and France.
According to Vinales, he was surprised to see the results of the race because Rossi always outperformed him.
"I do not know (why Rossi can excel.) In fact, our bikes are very similar," said Vinales quoted by BolaSport.com from Speedweek.
Just a tire grip that makes a big difference between us. Nothing more than that, "Vinales said.
The Spanish passport driver added, he has better grip when out of the corner due to the lighter weight of his bike.
"We drive in the same style, I have a better grip when out of the corner because I am lighter," said the former Suzuki racer.
"My problem with the front tire is on Friday, I feel great, but on Sunday everything is different," Vinales said.
Because of this minor result, Vinales must be willing to position in the table standings pebalap evicted by Rossi. Currently, Rossi perched in second place with a notch 72 points, while Vinales stuck exactly one level below with 67 points achievement.
