You made a compelling case, but the fact was that Floyd is a Boxing Champion and McGregor is an MMA Champion. For this you have to compare the micro detail of the two sports to see how has an advantage. A big one is in boxing, if you're stunned you have nowhere to go, in MMA you can always go to the mat. This is not a comment to say one is better than the other, it's simply the rules and a comparison that many other have made about the two sports. You're correct that this was all about the money and everyone involved made a killing, but I think it goes bigger than that. The marketing for this fight was HUGE and the long awaited bridge between the MMA and Boxing worlds has been made. It was big and it was flashy, and McGregor was the best one to represent the MMA world right now. It will be interesting to watch how the two sports evolve together, and independently, from this point forward.

I agree. The fight was closer than most thought it would be. I would bet it again.
