Golf and Presidents go hand in hand. And our current President, is no different. Donald Trump is not only an avid golfer, but he also owns 17 golf courses. The relationship between Trump and the sport of golf might be the strongest that the White House has ever seen.
Let's take a look at the history of golf and the United States Presidents. Most recently, Barack Obama played 333 rounds of golf in his 8 years in office. He was frequently criticized by the Republican Party for playing too much golf, including rounds after addressing the nation about American Soldiers that had been killed in combat. It wasn't a good look and came across as hyper incentive.
George W. Bush loved golf as well. But when we went to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, Bush put the golf clubs away. He didn't think it was appropriate to be on the golf course when our brave men and women were fighting to keep us safe and hunt down Osama Bin Laden. He didn't golf for several years.
Bill Clinton was known for making a day out of his golf rounds. Literally, Clinton would play extremely long rounds that would last most of the day. When asked about his long rounds of golf, Clinton said, “Presidents need to rest their minds, not just their bodies.”
William Taft was the first President to golf over 100 years ago. He wanted to get some excessive and lose weight.
Woodrow Wilson has the record for golfing the most amount of rounds when President. He golfed over 1,000 times in his 8 years.
How much will President Trump golf? Well, it might be hard to know the exact number. He has already visited some of his golf clubs and hosted meetings and conducted official government business without even swinging a club. He has played several times though in his first 8 months. Trump went golfing with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo a few months ago. He has also taken Senator Rand Paul out for a round. Trump is sure to get his rounds in over the next few years, but he will look at golf more as an opportunity for a business meeting, and less about relaxation and fun.

Golf as an opportunity for a business meeting, interesting.
Thank you for reading.
I think golf is the perfect thing to keep a president's life in balance. I just got my first set for graduation and I have been addicted to playing the past month. Cool article, thanks for sharing.
