The NFL refused to acknowledge the fact that National Anthem protests are really cutting into their product. Now, to make matters worse, players are going to start taking their protests onto the field with them.
I love the NFL and have many fond memories of both games and friendship that revolves around it. These protests are ruining the game and the league is encouraging it by doing nothing to stop it.
I understand constitutional rights, but this is a business and the business is to put out a product that people want. If I work at McDonald's, I'm required to dress a certain way and treat customers a certain way. I may have constitutional right to speak my mind about the customers, but if my behavior jeopardizes their business, they are not required to employee me.
These protesting players are basically taking a big huge dump on my Big Mac and McDonald's is telling me that I have to like it and pay for it, and the media is telling me that if I don't like it then there is something wrong WITH ME!
The NFL should clamp down of this type of behavior. If you refuse to stand during the National Anthem, stay in the locker room. If you protest during the game, you will be fined. If you speak out during a post-game press conference while acting as an employee of the league, you will be fined. What you do on your own time off the field, that's your business.
The NFL refuses to do this so they are losing business.
I want to watch football to escape the politics, not to have it shoved back in my face.
Personally, I'm struggling with this because I love the NFL but I hate what they are allowing it to become.
Well said Stacks!
I completely agree with you!!
