I've watched a lot of NFL football in my life and I completely disagree on Mayfield. The only two franchise quarterbacks who I can recall resembling his physical attributes are Brees and Russell Wilson. Both these guys have incredible work ethic and squeaky clean histories and ZERO red flags off the field. I'm expecting Mayfield will bust and be a media circus on and off the field but time will tell. I hope I'm wrong for his sake, I truly hope he is successful but I don't think its likely. Completely agree with you on Josh Allen. He was an inaccurate passer and never was a dominating player in college. Every other top prospect in this draft dominated games. However, Allen has a huge arm and is a physical specimen which will always draw speculation about what he "could" become. I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see the Browns take him #1 overall and I completely disagree with the pick because I think he will still be there at #4. I've got to see Darnold and Rosen play the most and I'm very very confident that Sam is the guy who will be competing for Superbowls over the next decade. He's the complete package on and off the field.

And being 20 helps him a lot. He can get 4 years under his belt he will still be younger than some rookies. I am also a big darnold fan. Mayfield is a fiery competitor IMO. Most people shy away from that personality. I agree with the size being a concern but I think his production and arm strength are decent enough to assume he should be better than most think. I think he's going to surprise a lot of people.
Wouldn't you be worried about his off the field issues as well? If I were Cleveland, I would probably avoid anyone who resembles Manziel after how badly they got burned by him. Doh!
Besides grabbing his crotch I don't see anything that resembles manziel. I think the other prospects are so cookie cutter it makes Baker appear so much more of a personality. His demeanor is way overblown IMO
What about his public intoxication arrest where he tried to run from the police? Manziel was known as a partier but didn't have anything nearly as severe as this before being drafted. Then his issues with substance abuse became way more apparent and out of control post draft. I'd be worried but it doesn't look like Cleveland is. Sounds like they're planning on taking him #1 overall, we'll see how it plays out.
Again probably an over reaction. He's a college guy. There's a ton that get popped for things like that. To me it's silly when we try and act like these guys aren't kids or aren't human. People make mistakes. Big difference between the 2. Manziel was affluent and spoiled, also had zero work ethic. Mayfield was a walk on that faced a ton of adversity and won time and time again. Take that with one of the better passer ratings and on an Oklahoma team void of NFL wr talent. I'd still say it's a long shot for a Jonny football comp
