Major League Baseball Picks for May 21, 2017
Hello and welcome to my MLB daily sports picks!
I work in the daily fantasy sports business and have been translating all my fantasy data into sports wagering and believe now more than ever is the time to take advantage of all the data that is a available to the public.
Granted I pay for quite a few algorithms but love seeing the trends and stats for fantasy and simply apply it to which team should win and what the data suggest for what teams should be scoring runs.
I was burned pretty bad yesterday by the nationals but when a team has a top ranked pitcher against one of the lowest ranked pitchers I’m always comfortable taking that pick.
Today is no different as I have Strasberg as the top rated fantasy pitcher and Garcia is the third worse.
I know that people are hesitant to roster Strasberg in fantasy because he’s pitching more to contact this season and his strikeout rate is down this year, but I’m not concerned with how many strikeouts he gets as long as he gets out.
It helps that Atlanta's top batter (a lefty against a righty) is out in Freeman.
The Nationals are the second top stack of the day meaning that Strasberg should get some run support but as we saw yesterday that isn’t always the case.
I know this isn’t the soundest thing to do in sports betting but I have a hard time believing that the braves can continue to hold this offense the way they have the last two games.
I said that Garcia is the third worst pitcher meaning there are two pitchers below him.
Well it just so happens that they two worst pitchers on today's slate (for fantasy purposes) are facing each other in Freeland and Arroyo.
Granted I think Kyle Freeland is a lot better than people give him credit for but as we saw yesterday, the reds can put up runs in a hurry in Cincy.
I love the Rockies and the Reds in this spot and think this game will go over and the general public seems to agree.
The wind is blowing out in Chicago today and that means balls will be flying.
Jake Arrieta hasn’t been looking like the Cy Young pitcher he was a few years ago and his hard hit contact is up, but Chase Anderson has really struggled against left handed batting this year.
What a shock, look at the Cubs lineup today.
While I think Arrieta gives up a few runs, I think the cubs will score more and I’m taking the Cubs to win and the runline as well.
One thing I like to do is parlay some of these bets but never go more than three games and even that is rare.
So I have a few two team parlays when I’m dealing with teams that are in the -200 range like the cubs and nationals are today.
So to recap, I have over 9.5 in the COL/CIN game Nationals -170 and the run line (-1.5) at -115 Cubs -200 and Cubs run line (-1.5) at -105
So let's go have some FUN!
