The New England Patriots suspect that Julian Edelman tore his ACL, and there will be an MRI performed to verify this. The fantasy implications of this are huge, as well as the implications for the Patriots obviously. Edelman was a Superbowl hero last year against the falcons, with his own version of "The Catch" as you can see here.

The Patriots poached star wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the New Orleans Saints this past off-season, so look to see Brandin Cooks' draft stock increase dramatically, being the #1 receiver for perhaps the greatest quarterback of all time. However, Brandin Cooks is to be an expected beneficiary of this injury. Another player who will be a beneficiary of this injury will be Patriots running back, and postseason hero Dion Lewis. He is more of a receiving back, and will get a lot more of the check down passes from Brady, that Edelman would have usually received. More of a sleeper pick to step up as an every week starter is relatively unknown wide receiver Chris Hogan. Hogan made himself known last year, stepping up for the Patriots when they needed a playmaker on the field for Tom Brady. The Patriots will surely miss the veteran leadership and skills that Edelman brings to the table, but with the new additions the Patriots have made, and if everyone can stay healthy, be sure that the Patriots are still Super Bowl contenders going into the season, especially since they are playing in one of the worst divisions in football.
Let me know what yall think potential implications of this devastating injury are in the comments below!

I had just mentioned on another post. Last year hogan played an 89% snap share and recieved almost 28% in the slot. Not hard to imagine him and cooks share time there
