I think Dangelo Russell is the most immature guy in the league. Wouldn't build a team around that guy, wouldnt touch him with a 10 foot pole. Jarrett Allen has potential, and Levert I like as well.
Allen Crabbe & Mozgov are just killing the team with the salaries they are paid.
toddcast, can see we agree a lot-- nice to have someone that thinks similarly for once.
Crabbe is Marks' oddest signing, but actually he really seems to be stepping up as he's gotten more playing time in the past month. Maybe he's just a guy who never got the playing time? Really like how Nets are run, in terms of playing time. No new or young guy gets minutes until they earn it off the bench. Allen a first rounder, had to get thru TWO guys to play as a starter; Crabbe is most paid guy on the team and STILL has to earn it. REALLY like that mentality, whether it stems from coach, GM or owner we don't know but it's a great sign for the future. Mozgov is arguably Russia's biggest player in the NBA, and the Nets owner is Russian, so you can understand the homerism even if it's annoying bc Mozgov just isn't a cornerstone. Didn't Brooklyn also sponsor Schved for a little while (or was that the Knicks?) and we actually secretly like their Alexandr Vezenkov draft pick even if it's more nationalism. That dude can REALLY shoot and we're excited to see him play in the NBA.
100% agree on Russell, but with Okafor, Russell and Stauskas they are sorta betting their organization can fix these guys. We LOVE that confidence, very San Antonio-like even if it doesn't work. Russell needs to have the ball taken away from him, so this season has been awful in that respect. Hopefully with Dinwiddie manning the ball, D'Angelo learns his place and maybe plays some defense? Frankly, both Dinwiddie and Russell are both sorta ballhogs, and hopefully a much older pass-friendly influence like Carroll can change that behavior? Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but women sure love "Taming of the Shrew" stories and maybe in sports guys (like Brooklyn leadership) fall in love with that theme? Don't the Patriots in the NFL turn garbage into gold too? Andy Ried signed Terrell Owens and got his first trip to the Super Bowl (which T.O. played out of his mind). We'll be on pins and needles seeing if Brooklyn can tame the Russell, Stauskus, and Okafor "shrews".
