Paris Saint-Germain announced on Thursday that it had signed a contract with Frenchman Kilian Mbabi from Monaco in the last minute of the summer transfer market.
In an official statement, Paris said he had signed with Kilian Mbabi and would join the club on loan for the next season with the option of buying at the end of next season and a contract extending to 2022.
"Mbabi is one of the greatest French hopes of the future, and participated with the Duke for the first time on 25 March last, against Luxembourg."
Mbabé played 60 official matches for Monaco, scoring 27 goals, 16 assists and first appeared with Monaco on September 2, 2015 in front of Cannes.
"I'm very proud to join Paris, and for any youngster, joining the German club is a dream. I'm very impressed with the ambition of the team, one of the most ambitious clubs in Europe," Mbabi said after signing the contract.
The Paris Club did not mention the value of the deal, but according to the most prominent press reports in France, such as L'Equipe, Saint-Germain will pay about 180 million euros to be included after the loan ends.
Paris Saint-Germain has been trying in various ways to find a solution to legally annex Mbabé to avoid violating the rules of fair financial play, especially after the inclusion of Brazilian Neymar da Silva from Barcelona for 222 million euros.
