RE: A Rugby World Cup final to be proud of: The Boks retain the cup for another 4 yrs

in #sportsnewslast year (edited)

I felt very sorry for Sam Cane, almost as much as I did for Warbs when he had a red in the semi against France in 2015. I know intent is not a mitigating factor but I do feel sorry for players that have been reckless rather than nasty though on the flip side they are pros and they know whats coming if they go into a tackle in an upright position. Wayne barnes and the TMO helped the Boks somewhat too, how they missed Etzebeths high forearm away from the body when fending off a tackle is beyond me. I know that a lot of people are talking about the ruck penalties but they are way more difficult to police and often even themselves out but a clear foul play penalty with the aid of replays should be picked up by the TMO. Ah well, it was very tense even without our team still in there.
