Bareback Bull Rider
Bull riding is said to be the "most dangerous 8 seconds in sports". To have a qualifying ride, the cowboy must stay on the bull for 8 seconds, while holding on with only one hand. Points are awarded for both the rider's performance and the bull's bucking ability and only for a qualifying ride. I took this photo at the Lake Havasu rodeo in Arizona.

Amazing sport it is!
What always got me - is the fact that most of the time, you can watch how the bull (or wild horse) stands so calmly in the chute, still relatively calm (but excited) when the cowboy gets on, and it's not until the door opens that the volcano explodes, trying to get the cowboy off! The animal (generally) enjoys the whole show as well!
It is amazing to watch the bulls buck. They have lots of energy and agility for such a massive animal. Thank you for your comments @viking-ventures!
