AC Milan made a major overhaul this summer. In addition to bringing in new coach Marco Giampaolo, AC Milan also overhauled their squad.
They bought Theo Hernandez, Rade Krunic, Rafael Leao, and Leo Duarte.
In addition, AC Milan released Cristian Zapata, Manuel Locatelli, and Patrick Cutrone.
Other players also expired contracts such as Ignazio Abate and Riccardo Montolivo.
Even so, AC Milan's move is far from over, at least according to the Calciomercato report.
One next step that will be taken is to bring versatile players from ex-Giampaolo club, Sampdoria.
AC Milan is said to want to bring in a 27-year-old player, Jacopo Sala. Sala is known as the mainstay of Giampaolo at Sampdoria because he is a versatile alias. Aside from being a right-back, Sala is also often played as a central midfielder.
With AC Milan's limited finances, bringing in all-round players can be said to be a smart move. Sala is an academy graduate of Chelsea's young players before moving to the German League with Hamburger SV. The Italian man then moved to Sampdoria in 2016 until now. The same report states that there are things that AC Milan must do before recruiting Sala. The Rossoneri must first loan Andrea Conti.
