Steven Gerrard praised Jordan Henderson's hard work as captain of Liverpool. He considered Henderson to be a role model for the Reds squad.
Henderson managed to bring Liverpool to their sixth Champions League title. The British man led Juergen Klopp's squad to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the final match on Sunday (02/06/2019) early morning at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium Stadium.
This achievement at the same time cut the fast of the Reds title in the arena of the Big Ear after last doing it in 2005. At that time, Gerrard lifted the Champions League trophy after Liverpool beat AC Milan in the final match.
Gerrard claimed that he was proud of his 14 years ago, repeated by Henderson. He also praised the successor's hard work with Liverpool. Even though Henderson at the beginning of Brendan Rodgers' training in 2012, he wanted to go to Fulham to get Clint Dempsey.
Gerrard left the Liverpool captain's armband to Henderson in 2015 when he decided to leave LA Galaxy. Despite being the captain of the Red, Hendo actually started this season with not too good.
He is often excluded because of the intense competition in the Liverpool midfield. But slowly he was able to rise and return to become the mainstay of Klopp.
Criticism will always be whether you are a player, coach or manager. Jordan has got fair competition, but he handles it well and the best thing to do is let your appearance speak.
