Do esports need to be recognized as a sport?

With the almost philosophical controversy about whether or not they are sport as a context, electronic sports are affirmed as one of the contents with the largest audience and that more money moves in the world.

Much has been spoken and written (and will continue to be done) about whether esports are sports or not. Rather philosophical talks that end in two opposing positions between those who defend it and those who reject it. That a physical effort is not made, that they are "playing little games", who spend hours in front of a screen, etc. It is clear that the recent performance of the World Cup in Fortnite revived this controversy and, every new milestone of electronic sport in our country (and in the world), they will write new pages.

A good example of all this is the video "Our game" of Riot Games (see below), responsible for League of Legends, which summarizes a series of statements and opinions on different television programs in the United States with phrases like "I don't know if it is a sport "," If it does not perspire, for me it is not sport "and" It should not be shown on sports TV channels "opposed with sequences of competitions and audience data, scholarships to players and government consideration as a sport in some countries

Just because it's in the entertainment industry doesn't mean it automatically be categorised in sports imo ^^ just as playing the piano or chess aren't sports for example. it certainly does require skill and good reflex :)
