Phillipe Coutinho will remain a Barcelona player after the club admitted that a move away will not happen this summer.

Barcelona had been open to selling the midfielder after an underwhelming first full season but, after the English transfer window shut on August 8, have concluded he will stay.
Coutinho, who moved to Barcelona from Liverpool in 2018, had attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham and the Blaugrana had tried to complete a deal through various different formulations, but there was no agreement.
Coutinho has struggled to make an impact since joining the LaLiga Santander champions, leading to intense frustration amongst fans.
The reason Barcelona wanted to move Coutinho on, not just because he isn't giving the expected level of performance, but also from an economic standpoint, as the Brazilian is one of the highest earners at the Camp Nou.
