The son of former NFL lineman Barry Bennett was taken unto custody in Mexico after his parents were found dead in Minnesotta. Dylan John Bennett was arrested in second degree murder charges at a hotel in Cancun,the Todd County Sherriff's office said.

It has been said by the authorities that the 22-year old Bennett contacted the County Sheriff Steve Och to turn himself into the FBI but sheriffs office statement says that mexican authorities came before Bennett's information of turning himself reached them.

“The FBI is taking him into custody now and will transport him to Minnesota in the coming days,”

Barry Bennett and his wife Carol's dead bodies were found with gunshots in Long Prairie at their home last thursday and Dylans Bennett's car has an empty box for a 9mm handgun with ammunitions at the scene, a criminal complaint said.

Carol Bennett was shot in the back and tge torso multiple times and Barry Bennett was shot in the torso and head multiple times. Investugators believe that thet were killed Monday.

While Dylan was in a mental health treatment facility, he had expressed his thoughts about killing his parents, Barry told the Todd county Sherriff's Office according to a criminal complaint.

It has been said that the former NFL lineman Barry Bennett was seen at about noon in Long Prairie Monday and Dylan Bennett was seen driving his car during a bank transaction. He withdrawn a sum of cash using the Bennett's account. Carol Bennett's car was found in Columbus, Ohio and her debit and credit cards were used in Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio on Monday.

Dylan had a plane ticket flight from Columbus to Cancus.

Barry Bennett played 11 seasons with the New Orleans Saints, the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings.

Bennett had retired from teaching physical education in Long Prairie- reported by the Star Tribune and Superintendent Jon Kringen said that 63-year-old Bennett talked rarely about his NFL career.
