I was just reading about Stage1 and this came up...
Thomas crossed the finish line around two minutes behind the stage winner but because the crash happened inside the final 3km on a designated sprint stage, he was credited with the same time as the group he was riding with, so ended up losing no time on his rivals for the overall win.
Can't quite get my head around it, to be honest but I totally agree with you about having a time-trial to determine the wearer of the Yellow Jersey for S2.
A few years ago I went to see the Tour when it kicked off near my home in Yorkshire UK. Absolutely brilliant and been a fan ever since, especially with so many competitive Brits riding in the last few years.
We are spoilt for choice with all the sport on at the moment lol!!
It’s a circus, and in Belgium even more. We are born with a bike between our legs over here! 😎
