Now onto the News, Rumors, and Commentary…
“Up Next: The Rangers suit up for one last ride as RHP Dane Dunning gets the nod in the season finale for Texas against RHP Aaron Civale for Cleveland in their final game of their current name. In the final game under the stars at The Shed, the Rangers put together one of their better performances in an otherwise extremely forgettable season. The Texas Rangers scored seven runs and the Clevelanders only mustered a couple of runs. In his final outing of the season, Lyles went seven two-hit innings and allowed just one run with one walk and a season-high tying eight strikeouts.”
“Rookie catcher Heim said that Lyles’ knowledge of the game and quiet leadership has meant a lot to his own personal growth this season. With very few spots for 2022 secured, Lyles very well could return to Texas in a similar role next season. “I felt really good,” Lyles said. Lyles finished strong after that start in Cleveland, going 4-2 with a 3.08 ERA and .220 opponent batting average over his final six games to close the season.”
