Wayne Rooney is one of the most talented English professional footballer who plays presently for Major League Soccer club D.C. United. He has played quite a bit of his career as a forward, and he has likewise been used in different midfield roles.
The Former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney will leave D.C. United and return to England at the end of the MLS season in January after agreeing a deal with Derby County.
Wayne Rooney began his career with Everton. Dubbed a wonder-kid who scored on his Toffees debut at the age of 16 he moved to Manchester United in 2004 for £25.6m.
At Manchester United, Wayne Rooney was an extremely talented and top-class footballer. He achieved a great milestone of breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's long-standing record in January 2017, this makes him to be the all-time leading scorer and the only player to have scored 250 goals for the Manchester United.
Rooney left Manchester United to return back to his boyhood club, Everton. He joined Goodison Park on 9 July 2017 , Rooney was assigned the number 10 shirt for the 2017/18 campaign and he made with great impacts in the team by adding to the club goals profile before he decided to join the Major League Soccer ; DC United.
On getting to Major league soccer, it wasn’t hard for him to adapt to the club style of play because of his experience and his clever abilities. Rooney signed a three-and-a-half-year deal and his positive performances for D.C. United, earned him 'MLS Player of the Month' for the month of October 2018 despite joining the major league on July 10 july 2018.
Wayne still have two seasons left on his current deal with D.C. United, but has agreed to join Derby County who play in the English Championship as a player-coach following the 2019 MLS campaign.
The move has surprised many supporters and pundits and, it seems, everyone at Derby too but it was gathered that Wayne Rooney chose this decision to get the closer to his family. He was quoted telling reporters that;
“While the decision to move home was a tough one, family is everything to us and we make this change to be closer to the ones we love back in England,” Rooney said in a Tuesday statement. “The opportunity to go back home and start the next step of my career in coaching was the factor that made my mind up.”source
However, his transition decision to Derby which involves management, yet at the same time continuing with his playing career, implies he is the 6th player from England's Euro 2004 squad to make their first steps in coaching.
