eSports, esports or e-sports: What is the correct spelling of electronic sports?
When I wrote a post about sports for sportstalk I had a question about the tag to use regarding electronic sports.
Is there a definite rule in Brazil about preference?
According to Ieda Maria Alves, a professor at the Department of Classical and Vernacular Letters of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FFLCH-USP), Brazilian Portuguese does not have a specific rule for spelling foreign words, but it is usual for words to eventually adapt to the national language.
In the case of esports, as in the email, the tendency is that the hyphen is not being used.
I went to see in wikipedia and "esports" is also the preferred way.

Brazil has more than 7 million and a half of virtual gaming enthusiasts and the sector may be prominent in the economy
Games in Brazil are taxed more than guns, a part of the population, especially the new generation, who is in direct contact, who have a relationship with this virtual environment have to pay sky-high taxes while other countries are even offering scholarships to these players.
According to data from CBDEL, Brazilian Confederation of Electronic Sports, there are 21 federations affiliated in the states, with 3,230 registered informal athletes and five official championships.

Hi there! Well this is just my personal opinion but I think eSports looks cooler than the rest.
Hello! If I'm not mistaken, currently the most frequent tag used for electronic sports is indeed esports so I guess you may want to use it as what @ddrfr33k stated but I agree also with @enhancer that eSports is so cool!
All three spellings are valid. You'll probably use esports the most, as that's likely going to be the tag that people use.
Yes I prefer use #esports on my posts about virtual games and other sports online.
