Wayne Rooney, still proving he's not the smartest of the bunch!

"We would have won everything with Pep"

That's what Wayne Rooney said today to Sky Sports. I almost choked in my coffee when I read it.
Ok, Pep Guardiola is a magnificent coach. And he has won titles with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. Even the Champions League with Barcelona. But he has had carte blanche by the bosses of Manchester City to buy any player he wants. And with Bayern his resources weren't small either. But did he win the Champions League with Bayern or City yet? No! Could he have bought players for the England squad? Of course not! He maybe could have made them play a lot better, but still he would have bounced on the limits of some players. And boy, there were limits to some of them. Especially in the defense and in the goal. So, no Wayne, you definitely wouldn't have won everything with Pep. Maybe you wouldn't even have played with Pep, because he demands a lot. Especially from attacking players, discipline and tactical knowledge.

What about Capello?

Sorry if this reads like a rant, but man, I hate it when I read dumb remarks like this. It is like the coaches that Rooney had for the England squad were morons. Like Fabio Capello or Steve Mclaren are nothing compared to Pep? Come on! Wake up Wayne, there's more honour in being modest than in overrating yourself!

England have under performed for years and arguably over performed at the last World Cup when in all honesty the draw was extremely kind to them. They should of really beaten Croatia in the semi-final if they were to truly be the good team everyone said they were, they weren't in my opinion. France did just that in the final and were worthy winners, though it was Belgium for me who should have won the tournament.

I have always considered Rooney to be overrated He's a very good player but World Class? Not in my view he wasn't, so I totally agree he might not have even been in Pep's team! I think the problem England have had is a lack of World Class strikers, in Midfield they have always had an abundance of talent, the last World Class striker for me was Alan Shearer, can't think of anyone else of the top of my head.

Wow, I couldn’t have stated it better, and nice to hear you found Belgium the best team. Although that doesn’t buy us anything...

He is as thick as two planks. Pep is good ,but he is no magician. England do not have the players and it is that simple.

Boom, amen!

The squad was filled with great talents so there's nothing else to question except the coaching quality, I agree with Wayne, maybe if they had a coach like pep, maybe they would have trophies
