The Gunners are nine point behind leaders Liverpool but Luiz says it's about time Arsenal challenge at the top again
David Luiz is of the opinion that the Gunners can challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title this season.
With eight games played, Liverpool have opened up an eight-point advantage over Manchester City (2nd) and Arsenal are a point further back in third place.
The Gunners last won the Premier League title with the Arsene Wenger's Invincibles back in the 2003/04 season.
Luiz joined Arsenal from Chelsea on transfer deadline-day and believes it is about time the Gunners challenge at the top again.
He told NBC Sports:
For me, if you start something, and we've just started the Premier League and all of the competitions, if you don't think you can win the competition then you won't start anything in your life.
Luiz says he wants to win titles with Arsenal. Improving as an individual player and playing to the coach's tactics as collective players are major things needed for Luiz.
This however rest on shoulders of Liverpool's opponents who must do everything to stop them. Major test for Liverpool would be their upcoming match against Manchester United on Sunday.
This is a good spirit from the defender and we can only wait to see what the season will offer. For now, fingers are crossed.
I don't think is this year,,,,,they have not get all the qualities needed to
congrat's for the Liverpool club who managed to top level.
