It is most probably the impact of “Sarriball” (Even pundits don’t know what exactly this type of play is) on Cristiano that he isn’t playing on a level he should be at Juventus. He was absolutely a very different player in the Portuguese shirt yesterday. You can say that Lithuania is an easy team to play against but watch his goals and his movement yesterday - he is definitely not injured and those goals (especially the second one) would have gone in against any team in the world. Also, it was not a friendly but an European qualifier and Portugal still haven’t qualified from their group. This was an important game for them where he made an outstanding impact.
All in all - this would be a huge confidence boost even for someone for his caliber and a vent for the pressure he must have been feeling for underperforming in his recent matches. He never disappoints and he never will. 55 hattricks - just like that.
As for Juventus, I already feel their chances are bleak for any European glory this season especially because of their midfield which is not up to the required mark. Cristiano is their only biggest hope and if he doesn’t get the confidence or the team doesn’t set up according to him, I don’t think they are going to progress too far. I say this about the setup because Sarri is known to be irritatingly adamant about his style of play which is a mystery for most and this was evident from his year at Chelsea.
Cris has been one of us. I hope Cris proves his haters wrong.
